Bosnia and Herzegovina (Croatian Administration) 1992 Coat of Arms

Bosnia and Herzegovina (Croatian Administration) · 1992 · 1 Dinar

This is the first stamp issued by the Croatian Administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The design features the coat of arms of the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia, a chequered shield (šahovnica) topped with a wattle pattern (pleter). The stamp is inscribed 'BOSNA I HERCEGOVINA' and 'HRVATSKA REPUBLIKA HERCEG-BOSNA'.

Issued on May 12, 1992, this stamp marks the establishment of a separate postal system for Croat-inhabited areas during the Bosnian War, following the dissolution of Yugoslavia.
