This stamp is the first in a definitive series issued under Austro-Hungarian administration. The design features a scenic view of the city of Mostar, highlighting its famous Old Bridge (Stari Most) spanning the Neretva river. Issued during the Austro-Hungarian administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this series replaced earlier military post stamps and was the first to feature local Bosnian scenery, intended to promote the region's beauty.
