This stamp, part of Argentina's first issue, features a portrait of Bernardino Rivadavia, the first president of Argentina. Known as the "Rivaditas," these stamps were printed in Buenos Aires and are characterized by their simple, classic design with the country's name at the top and the denomination at the bottom.

Issued in 1862, these were the first stamps of the unified Argentine Republic, following the end of the separation of the State of Buenos Aires. They replaced the earlier issues of the individual Argentine provinces.
